Family Stories
Grandpa George - Lord Baltimore
Today was a good day, genealogically speaking. I found that, traced back far enough, we are direct descendants of the first Lord Baltimore, George Calvert, who set out to establish a colony in what is now Maryland, Delaware and part of Pennsylvania, in which English law would rule but religious tolerance would be the guiding principal.
Look below to see the line that spans 437 years that links us to the founder of Maryland and Catholicism in the New World. The small numbers refer to the sources used to collect the information. Eventually, there were too many sources to notate.
The ancestor in bold type is the ancester through which the geneology was traced. For a family tree diagram for the Calvert family branch, follow this link.
