James Henry Gibbar, Sr.
~ Grandfather ~
d. January 26, 1962
James Henry Gibbar, Sr. was our grandfather, the father of our mother, Rose Anna (nee Gibbar) Bohnert, and the son of our great grandparents, Pius Alfred Gibbar and Mary Ambrosia (nee Kline) Gibbar. James Henry was born on February 14, 1888, in Brewer, Perry County, Missouri. On September 20, 1913, he married Mary Eleanora Belsha, daughter of John Logan Belsha and Mary Elizabeth (nee Hager) Belsha. He is buried in Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery in Perryville, Perry County, Missouri. At the time of his death he was 73 years old.

The informant, Mary Eleanora (nee Belsha) Gibbar, was the wife of the deceased.
James' mother's middle name was 'Ambrosia.'

Pius Alfred Gibbar
~ Great Grandfather ~
d. December 18, 1919
Pius Alfred Gibbar was our great grandfather, the father of our grandfather, James Henry Gibbar, Sr., and the son of our 2x great grandparents, Henry R. Gibbar and Elizabeth Ellen (nee Burns) Gibbar. Pius Alfred was born on January 23, 1861, in Perry County, Missouri. On April 14, 1885, he married Mary Ambrosia Kline, daughter of James Peter Kline and Catherine (nee Tucker) Kline. He is buried in Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery in Perryville, Perry County, Missouri. At the time of his death he was 58 years old.
~ Notes and Corrections ~
Pius' first wife was Mary Ambrosia Kline. His wife at the time of his death was Mary Clotilde Layton.
The informant, Frank Zoellner, was the undertaker at Young & Sons Funeral Home.
Pius' father's birthplace was likely New Orleans, Louisiana and NOT Perry County, MO. He was born only two months after his family arrived in the Port of New Orleans, Louisiana. (See Henry R. Gibbar Biography).
John Logan Belsha
~ Great Grandfather ~
d. May 17, 1926
John Logan Belsha was our great grandfather, the father of our great grandmother, Mary Eleanora Belsha, and the son of our 2x great grandparents, John Belsha and Harriet (nee Finch) Belsha. John Logan was born on or about December 21, 1844, in Perry County, Missouri. On January 9, 1894, he married Mary Elizabeth Hager, daughter of James Ruben Hager and Theresa Ann (nee Tucker) Hager. He is buried in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in Belgique, Perry County, Missouri. At the time of his death he was 81 years old.
~ Notes and Corrections ~
John Logan Belsha has TWO death certificates. The first is not completely filled out, missing the actual date of birth. In addition, the burial location and undertaker, as well as burial date are illegible. The second death certificate is stamped "Supplementary" and has some conflicting information regarding the birth date.
The first death certificate lists his age in years, months and days, which, when calculated, puts his birth date as October 25, 1844. The supplementary death certificate lists his birth date as September 24th, 1844. His baptismal records (which were contemporary with his actual birth, although NOT the actual year of his birth. He was baptized at 2 years of age) state that his date of birth was December 12, 1844 and his obituary and grave stone have his date of birth as October 21, 1844.
The informant for both death certificates was the deceased's wife, Mary Elizabeth (nee Hager) Belsha. However, it may be significant to note that she was his fourth wife and considerably younger than him and may not have been accurate on the birth information for that reason.

James Ruben Hager
~ 2x Great Grandfather ~
d. November 18, 1915
James Ruben Hager was our 2x great grandfather, the father of our great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (nee Hager) Belsha, and the son of our 3x great grandparents, John Franklin Hager and Mary Elizabeth (nee Sadler) Hager. James Ruben was born on January 27, 1845, in Cape Cinque Hommes Township, Perry County, Missouri. On June 18, 1868, he married Teresa Ann Tucker, daughter of Charles Tucker and Theresa (nee Manning) Tucker. He is buried in Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery in Perryville, Perry County, Missouri. At the time of his death he was 70 years old.
~ Notes and Corrections ~
James R. Hager's middle name was Ruben.
James R. Hager's mother's maiden name was more commonly spelled 'Sadler.'
James' father, John Franklin Hager, was most likely from Lincoln County, North Carolina, NOT Pennsylvania.
The informant, Orlando R. Hager, was the son of the deceased.
James Peter Kline
~ 2x Great Grandfather ~
d. March 11, 1916
James Peter Kline was our 2x great grandfather, the father of our great grandmother, Mary Ambrosia (nee Kline) Gibbar, and the son of our 3x great grandparents, William Kline and Mary Venecia (nee Massey) Kline. James Peter was born on August 25, 1842, in Perry County, Missouri. On April 17, 1860, he married Catherine Tucker, daughter of Peter Joseph Tucker and Mary Ann (nee Stewart) Tucker. He is buried in Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery in Perryville, Perry County, Missouri. At the time of his death he was 73 years old.
~ Notes and Corrections ~
James Peter Kline's middle name is often listed as Percy. However, Peter is the accurate name listed in his probate guardianship papers.
James Peter Kline's father was WILLIAM Kline, NOT David. David was James Peter Kline's uncle.
Jame's wife at the time of his death was Matilda Drury Kline.
The name of James Peter Kline's mother was Mary Venecia Massey. There are several spellings of Massey online, including Mossie and Mosy.
The informant, Felix Kline, was the son of the deceased. Since his grandfather, William Kline, died many years before he was born, it is not surprising that he did not accurately relate his grandfather's correct name.
