Immigration &
Settlement
Not all ancestors are represented on this page.
As research continues, additional ancestors and documentation will be included.
The following pages document some of the earliest immigrant ancestors from several of the many different branches of our family tree. Often the documentation is in the form of "Passenger and Immigration Lists" that tell, not just when, but where our ancestors began their lives in the New World. Often, however, we don't have exact arrival dates or years, but records that show that our ancestor was born in the Old World and died in the New.
Our Gibbar ancestors came predominately from England, Germany and France, with a very few representatives from Ireland, Scotland and Canada. They settled primarily in one of four locations: Virginia, St. Mary's County, Maryland, Lincoln County, North Carolina and Jefferson County, Kentucky. From these places, they eventually made their way, through the generations, to Perry County, Missouri.
Our Bohnert Ancestors came over (from Germany) and immediately - within the first generation - made their way to Perry County, Missouri.
