Gibbar Wills and Probate
JESSE MABRY was our 5X Great Grandfather through the Gibbar/Belsha/Hager line. He was born approximately 1748, possibly in Surry County, Virginia. His parents were Francis Mabry III and Mary (nee Eppes) Mabry. Jesse's wife's name was Sally but we do not know her maiden name. Children (from probate documents) include Peggy, Sally, Elizabeth "Betsy" (nee Mayberry) Sadler (our 4x great grandmother), and [more information needed].
He is recognized as a patriot in the Revolutionary War by the Daughters of the American Revolution for furnishing supplies to the troups.
Jesse Mabry died in Franklin County, North Carolina, sometime between making his Last Will and Testament on April 15, 1791 and the inventory of his estate, which was dated August 29, 1791.
Although his probate documents are located in Franklin County, North Carolina, online records (findagrave.com) assign his grave to Oakwood Cemetery Surry County, Virginia.
